PROJECT DETAILS

Established in April 2019, Vad Permaculture Demonstration Farm has been co-created with Vinayak Vad - a marginal farmer in Tansa Valley, Maharashtra - and his family.

The core idea is to enable the farmer and his family to be self-sufficient while regenerating the ecology.

OUR APPROACH

We engage in a participative process to

  • Build on the farmers' traditional wisdom

  • Empower famers with the knowledge of permaculture

  • Design locally relevant strategies

  • Demonstrate these strategies for the benefit of neighbouring farmers

OUTREACH

Total Outreach: 40 farmers; 10 trainers; 22 children

We partner with on-ground local organisations who are part of the community. We train the trainers and the community members.
The scope of the workshops is mutually decided upon based on the needs of the community.
